Senior Architectural Technician Job in Slough, Berkshire
We are currently working with an independent, forward-thinking, award-winning architectural practice that has a Senior Architectural Technician job available. This role would see you working with one of the leading practices in the growing retirement living and care sectors.
Established for over 50 years, this award-winning architectural practice consists of 20 dedicated professionals. Role & Responsibilities
1. Take a lead role in the running of a technical team
2. Oversee multiple projects
3. Work with the team to help develop junior team members
4. Allocate work and resources
5. Provide technical guidance and support to clients
6. Develop project briefs and feasibility studies
7. Prepare and present design proposals
8. Use Revit on a daily basis
9. Check drawings
10. Ensure compliance and quality standards
11. Evaluate environmental impact and sustainability
12. Obtain and evaluate tenders and contracts
13. Liaise with local planning, building control departments, other statutory bodies, and outside organizations
14. Attend regular meetings with clients, contractors, and other specialists, including engineers and surveyors, to ensure buildings meet necessary standards
15. Collaborate closely with construction specialists on-site
16. Obtain feedback from clients and building users, and report on contractor performance once the construction project is completed
17. Appraise the performance of buildings in use and produce maintenance management information.
Required Skills & Experience
1. Qualified as an Architectural Technician
2. Ability to use Revit is essential
3. Possess a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Architecture
4. Experience with NBS Specification and Sketchup is beneficial
5. Proven track record of team management
6. Freehand drawing ability would be beneficial
7. Good understanding of building technology
8. Experience in care or retirement living projects would be highly beneficial
9. Strong knowledge of UK building and CDM regulations
10. Care about the impact of designs on the end user
11. Due to site locations, you will need a valid UK driving licence.
