Job summary This will be a full-time, substantive Specialty Doctor post in Ophthalmology. The role will deliver clinical activity across several subspecialties within Ophthalmology. There will be opportunities to become more deeply involved in specific areas of interest with evidence of appropriate aptitude. The post will assist the department to deliver the required access times for patients. The department has a proven track record of supporting and encouraging specialty doctors to gain experience in a variety of ophthalmic sub-specialties including an opportunity to train in Phaco cataract surgery and possibly gain experience to have access to GMS Specialist register through CESR. To provide high quality ophthalmic assessment, treatment and management for service users. To provide clinical activity that is efficient to optimise access times for patients. To deal with clinical queries that arise from personal clinical activity and that of peers. To be aware of clinical governance and clinical risk management and take an active role in their implementation. To contribute to the learning experience of Specialty Registrar Trainees within the department as well as teaching and training medical and other students as well as other members of the MDT.
