We adopt a gender-sensitive, intersectional approach and frequently conduct gender mainstreaming training, strategy development, assessments, and analyses.
About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Researcher to join our dynamic and growing Gender and Inclusion Team. The ideal candidate will be proactive and committed to producing sound, objective research and analysis, contributing to evaluations with a significant gender component, strategy development, and gender training for our clients. Expertise and experience in the following thematic areas are essential: working with people and children with disabilities; gender and climate; and gender and economic empowerment.
In this role, you will conduct research on recent developments in gender and inclusion, undertake evaluations and reviews of thematic programmes, and occasionally travel to fragile and conflict-affected settings to deliver research activities.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
* Research
o Lead different stages of gender and inclusion-related research and evaluation projects.
o Conduct in-depth gender-sensitive literature and desk reviews.
o Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and interpret findings.
o Design participatory research instruments and conduct data collection.
o Contribute to the publication of reports and data.
o Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by line management.
* Project Development
o Support the development of new projects and contribute to drafting proposals.
Person Specification
* Qualification and experience
o Masters degree in Development Studies, International Relations, Gender Studies, or a related discipline
o 4-7 years experience conducting relevant research
o Fluency in English; other languages (especially Arabic, Spanish, and French) highly desirable
o Ability to cope well under pressure
* Core competencies
o Research skills: Strong report drafting skills and ability to write in a lucid accessible style.
o Knowledge of gender tools and gender-sensitive research methods.
o Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
o Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and statistical analysis software is an advantage.
