Pulse is now recruiting for a Band 8a Psychologist to join the specialist CAMHS team with a well-established NHS client located inWallington, Surrey .The role is available for the successful Psychologist to start as soon as possible, offering full time hours per week for an initial period of 3 months.
Position Details:
1. Role : Band 8a CAMHS Psychologist
2. Location : Surrey
Responsibilities:
3. Conduct psychological interventions within the CBT pathway for mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, and other presenting issues.
4. Perform assessment and screening in the Sutton CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) to direct Children and Young People’s needs to appropriate interventions within agreed timeframes.
5. Provide supervision to B7 Clinicians and Trainee/Assistant Psychologists within the SPA and/or Getting Help level, as per their experience.
6. Assist in demand and capacity planning in the SPA and CBT Pathway to meet local agreed waiting times.
7. Offer advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care while adhering to Trust and professional guidelines.
8. Support the Departmental clinical governance structure by providing clinical supervision and input to supervisees’ PADRs.
9. Promote the use of measures for clinical practice improvement and enhance user experience within supervision, team meetings, and other forums.
10. Incorporate service user perspectives in service delivery and seek opportunities for their inclusion.
11. Utilize research skills for practice evaluation and service development as outlined in the job plan.
12. Collaborate with the manager and clinical lead to lead the work of a particular team or service area.
Requirements:
13. Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) and HCPC registration.
14. Demonstrable experience in providing psychological interventions, particularly within the CBT pathway.
15. Experience in conducting assessments and screenings in a clinical setting.
16. Ability to provide supervision to junior staff and trainees.
17. Strong understanding of clinical governance and adherence to professional guidelines.
18. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
19. Commitment to continuous professional development and service improvement.
