Job Summary Overarching principles Deliver an enhanced customer experience that promotes wellbeing to local people in their local communities. To provide the leadership skills and the specialist clinical skills to support the Occupational Therapy Assistants within the team to support in the assessment of customers requiring recommendations for adaptations and equipment. To provide expert advice as to the suitability of the equipment identified with regard to the assessed need, the economic viability of equipment being requested and availability of recycled equipment readily available for use. To ensure holistic assessments are conducted/completed with service users, producing clinical notes/reasoning within the authorities guidelines on confidentiality. To ensure LAS records are kept up to date and relevant worktrays are monitored. To ensure that the appropriate equipment is prescribed and provided for the level of need identified by theTherapy Team. Enable people to live independently for longer by supporting people to retain or regain their skills and confidence, and prevent the need or delays in deterioration wherever possible. Focus on the customers outcomes, will also contribute to the strategic outcomes of Sandwell MBC and partner organizations. Within this role, you will undertake the following duties; 1. To work with vulnerable adults, children and carers, helping them to achieve ambitions, helping them to do things for themselves, take control over their lives as much as possible, building relationships and networksthat maintain their independence. 2. To provide a service that flexibly meets the needs of service users within budgetary constraints. 3. To have knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory framework and Government initiatives relating to your service area, including safeguarding, and the needs of vulnerable adults. 4. Work with other professionals to maintain quality standards with regard to the practical provision of equipment 5. Attend staff meetings and working groups related to the service and its development To have knowledge of the principles and responsibility of information sharing and data protection in line withlegislation. To undertake specific duties and responsibilities determined by the line manager to enable the team to achieve its goals and objectives. To work with the Lead Occupational Therapist, Team Manager and all others within the teams within the service area to ensure day to day functioning of the team in operational matters. To work with Lead Occupational Therapist, Team Manager and all others within the service area to share and promote good practice and work co-operatively to ensure consistency in working practices wherever feasible and champion all changes particularly in relation to the personalisation agenda.
