Broadwalk Green 28 The green Clifton, Manchester, M27 8QL Tel 0161 778 0920 Head of Centre: Olwyn Naylor Executive Head: Debbie Ramsay Higher Level Teaching Assistant Payscale: HLTA plus SNA Type of post: Up to 36 hours per week TTO 5 days We are seeking to appoint an HLTA, to work in schools mainly with KS3 pupils who are struggling in mainstream. You will work within the schools' behaviour policies and expectations, strengthen links with families and other agencies to support the children referred by the schools. The main aim is to reduce eventual permanent exclusion by providing/sourcing/supporting earlier interventions. You will provide onsite support for mainstream schools to promote inclusion, improve pupil progress and achievement by helping to minimize barriers to learning and maximize pupil participation. The successful candidates will: have a passion for teaching and learning have good pastoral skills and behaviour management strategies be flexible and a committed team player have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire students value, and contribute to, the distinctive ethos of the centre The successful candidates will need to demonstrate a commitment to ensuring that children make rapid progress in a supportive and caring environment. Whilst the role will be based in mainstream high schools around Salford you will be part of the Broadwalk Green PRU staff and as such will be managed by PRU staff.
