Planning Policy Team Leader \n \nClient: Cherwell District Council \n \nLocation: \n \nSalary: £52,380.50 - £55,756.50 per annum plus £10,000 market supplement \n \nClosing date: Sunday, 19 January 2025 23:30 \n \nWe are looking to recruit an experienced planning professional to lead our Planning Policy Team. \n \nThe Job: \n \nFollowing an internal promotion, Cherwell District Council needs a new Planning Policy Team Leader to push forward our Local Plan Review and other planning policy work. \n \nThe Cherwell Local Plan Review is one of the Council’s most high profile and important strategies.
Working with our Planning Policy, Conservation & Design Manager, you will lead a team of officers to deliver the Plan whilst engaging with other services, elected Members, communities, developers and neighbouring authorities. \n \nCherwell District Council will shortly be publishing our proposed submission (Regulation 19) Local Plan and expect to submit for examination next Spring. \n \nThe Person: \n \nYou will need the skills, drive and commitment to lead and deal with a complex and varied planning policy workload.
You will be an experienced planner who is highly organised. You should be proactive, delivery focused, innovative and highly adept in group working and problem solving. The ability to stay focused whilst being aware of wider challenges is essential.
