Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust
The Director of Major Programmes is a senior member of the Evelina London Executive Team and reports directly to the Evelina London Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In delivering their role the post holder will have dual accountability to the CHP SRO and Evelina London CEO. The role will be accountable to the CHP SRO for the overall delivery of the Programme for the Trust. This will sit alongside accountability to the Evelina London Chief Executive by holding executive responsibility and leadership of the transformational change required to enable programme delivery and the benefits realisation that will follow.
This is a pivotal role in supporting the realisation of both the Clinical Group and Trust's ambitious strategic vision for the Children's Hospital Programme. The programme has now reached a stage where it requires dedicated programme leadership in order to see it through the next phase. This involves delivering an approved outline business case (in full detail), decanting and preparing the site for demolition, securing an investor, working with the charity to develop and deliver a major fundraising campaign and working internally and with partners to deliver the organisational transformation that enables the programme to move forward.
Main duties of the job
The Director of Major Programmes, together with Executive Clinical and Operational leads, will be promoting and driving transformation through further integration and delivery of new and improved models of care in preparation for the significant transformative change required to deliver CHP. They will ensure key priorities are clearly defined and articulated, and are then translated into delivery plans supported by the service improvement team, to generate efficiencies and improve productivity and outcomes. This role provides additional executive capacity at a time of massive change and major programme delivery.
