Exciting opportunities have arisen for qualified professionals to join the Bristol Therapeutic Support Service as a Practice Lead.
Our service provides a range of therapeutic support as well as consultation and training for staff and carers with the overarching goal of promoting and achieving stability for children in care. We strive to continuously develop our services and practice and working in this environment will provide you with a good opportunity to influence developments as well as enhance your own skills and knowledge.
All of these posts will work as part of the management team within our service leading and developing practice, delivering training to staff and carers as well as consulting to our children’s homes.
You may lead a team supporting children in care or care leavers. You will lead the practice in the team, managing and supervising staff, taking on direct work for complex referrals and have a role in wider activity in relation to stability for children in care across children’s services.
Our service provides a range of support to help promote and achieve stability for our children including 1:1 support for children, family work and carer consultation. This can include providing a quick response and short-term support when there is an immediate risk to stability offering a range of interventions.
The service also provides intensive longer-term support for children with complex needs who are at high risk of instability providing intensive therapeutic support to them and their carers. For children receiving intensive support you will undertake thorough assessments of the children’s needs and provide substantial support to them and their carers, lead the practice in the team, managing and supervising staff and engage in wider activity in relation to stability for children in care with complex needs.
To apply for one of these posts you will need a professional health or social care qualification for example family therapist, mental health nurse, social worker, psychotherapist, or psychologist as well as considerable experience of working therapeutically with children with complex needs. You will also have some management and service development experience. These posts will suit passionate innovative individuals who enjoy a challenge and working as part of a team.
