Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager that wants to be challenged and take on the development of a world-class accounting function. This role ensures all accounting practices conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting deadlines are achieved. To be successful in this role, you must be able to think strategically; design and improve processes; implement technology-enabled solutions; build strong working relationships; and be comfortable navigating change. You will be responsible and challenged with ownership of the close & consolidation process, improving cost accounting methodologies, redefining fixed assets monitoring practices, and championing our enterprise performance management system (Onestream) to unlock future capabilities. This position reports to the Director of Finance and routinely engages in discussions with functional leaders across the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
Management of the Accounting Close Process
* Ownership of the month-end and year-end closing process for parent company.
* Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations, key balance sheet reconciliations, and account analyses for parent company.
* Consolidation of multiple domestic & foreign entities with parent company and managing intercompany balances for reconciliation & elimination.
* Understand foreign exchange impacts and review accuracy of accounting treatment on a monthly basis.
* Posting monthly cost allocations amongst departments & managing entity cross-charges.
Financial Reporting
* Preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, etc.) in accordance with GAAP.
* Assist with chart of accounts maintenance and identify opportunities to strengthen structure to enable better data categorization for decision-making.
* Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, manage accruals, and areas for cost-saving opportunities.
* Ad hoc reporting.
Internal Controls and Compliance
* Coordinate with external auditors to complete audits, ensuring timely and accurate filings, and addressing audit findings or recommendations.
* Assist with preparation and filing of tax returns, working closely with tax advisors and ensuring tax compliance.
* Monitor and enforce compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
* Preparation of banking covenants to ensure required debt compliance.
Inventory and Cost Accounting
* Lead a holistic review of the cost accounting methodologies in place and execute improvement opportunities.
* Assist in review of inventory on-hand for excess & obsolete reserve adjustment.
Process Improvement
* Identify areas for process improvements within the accounting department and implement best practices to increase efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
* Support the implementation of new accounting systems and technology to improve reporting and streamline operations.
* Develop policies and procedures to enhance financial reporting and operational controls.
Other Responsibilities / Challenges
* Lead the management of fixed asset sub-ledger including monitoring fixed asset spend by project for status review with leaders, updating the sub-ledger for disposals, additions, and depreciation adjustments.
* Manage the company’s credit card travel & expense management platform & its monthly close cycle for posting all activity into the general ledger.
* Preparation of company cash flow projections on a quarterly basis for management presentation.

Education & Experience
* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or CMA designation preferred.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting; can be a mix of public & private accounting.
* ERP systems, Onestream, & Tableau experience desired.
* Experience with international entities, consolidations, and foreign exchange accounting impacts.
* Strong experience in manufacturing accounting, including cost accounting and inventory management, within a mid to large-scale manufacturing organization.
* Expert knowledge of accounting principles and regulations: Demonstrates expert technical understanding of finance systems, internal control requirements, and U.S. GAAP standards.
* Advanced knowledge of Excel required.
* Experience working with external auditors and tax accountants.
