This is an exciting opportunity for qualified CWPs to develop as a Senior Wellbeing Practitioner and supervisor, who will have been qualified for at least two years by January 2024.
The post holder will be expected to fulfil the requirements of and complete the Senior Wellbeing Practitioner Post Graduate diploma at Kings College London to enable progression to a fully qualified Advanced Practitioner CWP.
The Post holder will work as part of the Croydon CWP service to manage a defined caseload with a focus on providing focused assessment and evidence-based intervention for children and young people (CYP) with mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their parents/carers.
The post holder will be expected to provide Case Management and Clinical Skills Supervision to a number of CWPs within the service.
The post holder will travel to as appropriate and across the Trust when required and adapt working pattern to as appropriate in order to meet the demand from the community.
The post holder is expected to promote equality, diversity and inclusion within their own role, the service, and community settings that allows easy and timely access to those needing support for mild-moderate mental health difficulties.
This is a training role within the Children and Young People's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT). The post-holders will work within CYP CWP aligned with a multidisciplinary team delivering, under supervision, high-quality; outcome–informed, focused, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing, mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, and behavioural difficulties.
The training and service experience will equip the post holders with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value-driven service.
The post holders will attend all university-based taught and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum, and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.

Communication
• Establish therapeutic relationships with children, young people and their families and implement evidence based therapeutic interventions.
• Ensure that all members of the multi-disciplinary team, their colleagues, service users and appropriate others are informed/updated of changes involving current care plans, progress, mental state, and psychosocial factors in line with best practice.
• Liaise with and advise CYP and families, GPs, schools, local authority and other statutory bodies and third sector agencies including children’s safeguarding as required.

• Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or children and young people in treatment, where appropriate.

• Undertake assessments, culminating in an agreed plan of action and/or care and intervention.
• Undertake complex risk assessments and develop a formulation of risk which will lead to the development of risk management plans which have taken into consideration a range of possible outcomes.
• Undertake and continuously re-evaluate complex bio-psycho-social assessments and develop a working formulation which will lead to the development of personalised needs-led care plan in line with evidence based and routine outcome measures.
• Ensure that practice is evidence-based, paying attention to the Trusts and NICE guidelines, policies, protocols and pathways and other professional standards.
• Be available for and participate in individual supervision with agreed clinical supervisor.
• Implement, review and maintain Trust Policies and Procedures.
Planning and Organizational Skills
• Ability to manage and coordinate diary and caseload.
• Plan and organize interventions ensuring that reviews are held within the required time frame.
• Support trainees and supervisees in the team.
• Plan and manage a range of activities which may be complex in nature and delegate appropriate responsibilities to other members of the team.
• Review, evaluate and adjust activities in response to the changing demands.
Responsibility for Patients /Service Users (SUs)
• Assess patients/ SUs with mild to moderate mental health needs to ensure appropriate intervention or treatment offer.
• Work in partnership with young people and their families to inform assessment, need and rationale for treatment intervention.
• To work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to ensure safe working practice and positive outcomes for children and young people.
• To follow safeguarding processes as appropriate or required.
