We are seeking a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated specialist school in Stockport. This is a full-time role, working closely with students who require additional behavioural and emotional support to engage positively in their learning. The Role: As a Behaviour Support TA, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment. You will work alongside teachers and other professionals to implement behaviour strategies, de-escalation techniques, and personalised interventions to support students with complex needs. Key Responsibilities: Support students with behavioural and emotional needs, both in and out of the classroom. Implement behaviour management plans and positive reinforcement strategies. Assist in developing students’ social and emotional skills, encouraging positive interactions. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to ensure a consistent approach to behaviour support. Use de-escalation techniques, following Team Teach or similar strategies where applicable. Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with children with challenging behaviour (desirable). Knowledge of Team Teach or other behaviour management strategies (desirable). A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A commitment to making a positive impact on children’s education and well-being.
