As Project Engineer, you will manage all aspects of developing and executing manufacturing process and facility capital projects on budget and schedule. You will also support the Site Maintenance team and GEO engineering, providing technical and practical support.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Developing and coordinating capital projects including execution of Front End Loading processes, project financial analysis/justification, project controls, cost estimate validation, benchmarking, and forecasting and risk management.
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant Industrial and Construction HSE programs and processes such as Process Hazard Analysis, Pre Start-up Safety Reviews, Mechanical Hazard Analysis, and Safety Permitting.
* Ensuring compliance with applicable national and international standards such as ISO and BS EN associated directives.
* Analyzing levels of influence, developing strategies to communicate, setting boundaries, and managing competing expectations to avoid scope creep.
* Coordinating selection and management of engineering contractors and construction firms.
* Managing multiple priorities to achieve overall corporate goals.
* Leading cross-functional teams including team building, conflict resolution, employee motivation, delegation, and priority management.
* Providing technical and practical support for the site maintenance team.
* Supporting setup time reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives.
* Balancing workload depending on demand in line with business needs between Projects, Maintenance, and GEO engineering.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Educated to HNC/HND or degree level in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
* At least 5 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment.
* Project Engineering experience of prior projects (£50,000-£500,000 in value) including introduction of new equipment, new process development, and modifications to existing equipment.
* Working knowledge of control systems including Siemens S7 PLC’s.
* Experience of working with process controls.
* Experience working within Maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience of managing facilities projects.
* Understanding of all disciplines (mechanical/electrical/process/civil).
* Ability to develop and utilize 2D & 3D CAD drawings is essential; training will be given.
* Production of P & ID’s is advantageous; training will be given.
* Experience of Project Management tools such as Microsoft Project.
* Relevant Health and Safety Qualification (IOSH).
* Exemplary computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

* A piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) is a detailed diagram in the process industry which shows the piping and vessels in the process flow, together with the instrumentation and control devices.
