Quantity Surveyor required to work for Main Contractor on Major Rail Projects.
Permanent Staff Position
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 + Package including Car/Car Allowance
Location: Huddersfield - Hybrid Working Arrangements in place
Quantity Surveyor Role Brief:
1. Take responsibility for projects from contract award through to final account agreement.
2. Ensure that all commercial and contractual aspects of the relevant projects are properly managed and controlled in an efficient manner.
3. Provide assistance, support, and guidance on all commercial issues within the Project(s).
4. Maintain an up-to-date Cost to Complete and Risk Register for the projects.
5. Prepare Valuations/Applications for Payment on a monthly basis with full supporting documentation in an efficient and timely manner and in accordance with the contract.
6. Prepare Cost Reports to the Client on a monthly basis with full supporting documentation.
7. Prepare earned value calculations and detailed projected project outturn costs on a monthly basis.
8. Prepare and manage subcontract and key material(s) procurement schedules.
9. Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of requisitions, monitoring, and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.
10. Produce and rigorously manage Early Warning Notices/change notices and associated registers.
11. Prepare, negotiate, and agree on Compensation Events/variations, extension of time claims, etc.
Essential Knowledge/Experience:
1. Preferably Degree qualified, along with membership to RICS/CInstCES/CIOB.
2. Experience of key NEC, JCT, and Network Rail forms of contract with a proven track record is preferred.
3. Experience of building and maintaining good working relationships with people of all levels.
4. Experience and proven ability to manage people.
5. Experience of liaising successfully with Clients and managing difficult relationships.
6. Working knowledge of standard forms of contract and methods of measurement.
7. Experience with a construction/engineering contractor.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project.
