You will join the Group Model Validation Centre of Excellence at an exciting time given the significant growth in the General Insurance (GI) and advanced analytics space, with ample opportunities to lead the validation team through this change A bit about the job: As the Head of Model Validation, you will support the Group Model Validation Director in ensuring the integrity and reliability of Aviva's General Insurance models. Your primary responsibility includes delivering effective and efficient validation, covering scoping, execution, documentation, stakeholder management, and regulatory engagement. You will ensure these models meet regulatory standards and internal policies, contributing to Aviva's overall risk management framework. Additionally, you will lead a team of five experienced actuaries, providing leadership, structure, guidance, and support. You will collaborate closely with the support team in Poland and external resources, working with key stakeholders such as model owners and the UK GI and Canada GI Model Validation Leads. You will be responsible for advancing Aviva's model validation standards and mentorship, staying up-to date with industry developments. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, you will contribute to the CoE's success and navigate internal and external changes. With the rapid development of AI, you will collaborate with the Generative AI Risk Lead and Model Governance team to ensure Aviva's model risk management framework keep pace with AI adoption. This involves shaping and evolving Aviva's risks and controls framework and ensuring the Model Risk and Independent Validation Business Standard and associated guidance align with Aviva's business aspirations. Skills and experience we're looking for: Strong technical knowledge of Solvency II, GI capital modelling as well as wider financial models as desirable (e.g. pricing, projections, stress testing, etc) Strong communication skills, both verbal and written to enable constructive second line challenge Inspiring and nurturing leadership skills to bring the best out of the team Strong stakeholder management skills and experience with the ability to influence outcomes Familiarity with Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence models including Generative AI will be advantageous What you'll get for this role: Our purpose - with you today, for a better tomorrow - is a promise we make to our colleagues too.
