Protocol Education are currently recruiting trainee teaching assistants to work in Northumberland.The schools we work with offer prospective teaching assistants the opportunity to work all ages such as early years, primary and secondary students and will provide training throughout the role. This particular school are looking for individuals who enjoy working with children of all ages, comfortable working with special needs and are passionate about making a positive impact in students learning and development. No experience is required, but commitment, passion and dedication are key attributes the school are looking for. As a teaching assistant you will be working in small class sizes of 6 - 8 students per class where you will follow a set curriculum developing speech & language, teach vocabulary and comprehension through visual resources, support students in cores subjects such as numeracy and literacy and assist in creative lessons such as art, music, cooking and sensory play.
The role:
Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small group basis.
Ensuring that the pupils can integrate as fully as possible in the activities generally undertaken by the other children in the class and make progress.
Developing knowledge of the particular needs of the pupils and seeking advice from the SENCo, class teacher and outside agencies as required.
Providing positive reinforcements, praise and rewards to pupils.
