A CNC Machinist is required for a global engineering company based near Ashton Under Lyne.
Rate is c£14-16 PAYE per hour plus company bonus, 25 days' holidays and bank holidays, pension etc.
Key Responsibilities for the CNC Machinist:
Program CNC machines (for qualified personnel only) to produce precision components.
Interpret and work from technical drawings, manufacturing or processing free-issue components to specifications and requirements.
Operate all necessary machinery safely and competently within the engineering department, adhering to training and safety protocols.
Perform final polishing of components where required (restricted to trained personnel).
Accurately log working hours (both chargeable and non-chargeable) and record materials or consumables used in systems such as MES/SAP.
Replace grinding wheels as needed, following all relevant health and safety guidelines.
Conduct final inspections of completed work, including dye penetrant testing where applicable (for trained personnel).
Transfer finished components to the inspection team (CMM) for quality assurance as necessary.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in line with company standards.
Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and legislative requirements.
Apply LEAN methodologies to support continuous improvement in processes and efficiency.
Perform machining and grinding on a range of base materials and coatings.
Desired Skills and Experience
Previous experience in a similar role is highly advantageous.
Versatility as a multi-skilled operator will be a strong asset.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering and technical drawings is essential.
