Job Title: Field Service Engineer – Heavy Plant Equipment Location: Sheffield (Field-Based covering North of England) Salary: £43,000 - £49,000 Overtime Company Van About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our client's team, specialising in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy plant construction equipment. Operating across the North of England, you will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and ensuring the optimal performance of a range of heavy plant construction machinery. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose, service, and repair a variety of heavy plant machinery, including excavators, telehandlers and loaders. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to prevent breakdowns and prolong equipment life. Provide rapid response to breakdowns, minimising downtime for our clients. Work independently and efficiently while liaising with the support team and customers. Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate records of all work undertaken. Adhere to health and safety standards at all times while working on-site. Travel extensively across the North of England to meet service demands. Requirements: A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with heavy plant construction equipment. Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems in plant machinery. Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Plant Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field). Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently. Full UK driving licence. Willingness to travel extensively across the North of England. What's On Offer: Salary of £43,000 - £49,000, dependant on experience.
