Salary: £49,000 - £53,000 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Senior Manager in our Strategic Communications & Campaigns team. In this role, you'll lead our work to communicate what CRUK's role is in children's and young people's cancers, and to drive awareness of and support for Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People.
You'll oversee the strategic direction, management and delivery of Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People's communications and marketing activities. Working in a matrix management structure, you'll be responsible for working with teams across the organisation to scope out opportunities to showcase our commitment to children's and young people's cancers, including leading a marcomms campaign for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September.
You'll need to develop a good understanding of our children's and young people's research strategy. From this position you'll bring the research, communications and marketing teams together to ensure a consistent message and marketing and communications strategy is delivered to target audiences.
What will I be doing?
* Leading the implementation of the children's and young people's marketing and communications strategy against measurable objectives and targets for Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People
* Governing the Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People sub-brand, managing its use and monitoring its performance
* Overseeing delivery of communications and campaigns, particularly the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month campaign, including setting objectives, coordinating cross-org activities, evaluating and reviewing results and providing recommendations for future campaigns
* Driving awareness of Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People and CRUK's role within the world of children's and young people's cancers internally and externally, including identifying new opportunities to do so, e.g. through delivery of the new social media strategy
* Working with brand, marketing and trading teams to identify marketing opportunities for Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People now and in the future
* Collaborating cross-org to ensure that all views on CRUK's role within children's and young people's cancers are represented and that key stakeholders support the proposals. This includes supporting the Patient Involvement Team to manage the Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People Insights Panel.
* Chairing the Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People cross-org working group, which includes key internal stakeholders from across the organisation
* Reporting up to senior leadership steering committees to ensure senior-level accountability and strategic cross-org decision-making on the direction of Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People
* Nurturing relationships with key stakeholder groups to build knowledge and explore opportunities for collaboration
* Managing the marketing and communications budget for Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People
* Facilitating the review and implementation of the mass fundraising strategy for children's and young people's cancers, working closely with MFE and R&I.

* Ability to manage, deliver and implement a cross-org marketing and communications strategy, planning strategic campaigns and to evaluate these campaigns
* Capability to work flexibly and comfortably in a rapidly changing working environment
* Great stakeholder management and relationship skills, with a focus on delivering performance excellence
* Self-managed and motivated with strong project management skills
* Experience managing a cross-functional, cross-org team, leading and motivating them to deliver shared goals
* Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal - including the ability to give presentations, facilitate groups and communicate complex information succinctly for a range of audiences
* Ability to listen and empathise, particularly with people who have been affected by cancer.
