Misson
To optimise operational performance through proactive / reactive maintenance techniques ensuring that safety is secured through the adoption of safe working practices and the provision of safe plant and equipment, whilst also providing on rota call out cover in support of the factory reactive breakdowns.
Main Activities
1. Safeguard the integrity and safety of all plant and equipment associated with manufacturing operations through carrying out all work to agreed company standards.
2. Support the departmental drive towards continuous improvement & provide support to companywide site projects aligned to corporate objectives.
3. Keep accurate and up to date records within the computerised maintenance management system of all repairs, servicing, and modifications to equipment to improve the integrity and relevance of data to allow an informed management decision making process.
4. Maintain and document an accurate and comprehensive system of spares for all equipment ensuring that critical spares are ordered to agreed stock levels.
5. Responsibility of MTTR/MTBF/Service schedule adherence/CI activities/management & control of critical machine spares/consumables in allocated areas to include daily departmental SIM KPI's aligned to delivering support to manufacturing & assembly areas.
6. Maintain the site facilities in line with internal and external regulations whilst also taking responsibility for the safety & control of sub-contractors.
7. Ensure the development of autonomous maintenance in allocated areas is trained to relevant parties and carried out effectively to maintain operational standards.
8. Ensure that all breakdowns are attended to using advanced fault-finding techniques to minimise downtime to production equipment securing industrial efficiency/up time.
9. Ensure that all work activities are completed in line with company policies and procedures.
Job Scope
1. Ensure that good 5s standards and personal discipline is maintained within all areas of maintenance activities.
2. Ensure that safe systems of work are strictly followed including RAMS & LOTO.
3. Undertake planned preventative maintenance periodically in line with statutory requirements.
4. Ensure that the Schneider Production System is respected and adhered to & all departmental KPI's & meetings are secured.
5. Identify and implement CI opportunities to remove cost and waste from the business.
6. Promote the development and continuation of successful customer relationships and embrace customer feedback opportunities for improvement.
7. Ensure all costs are apportioned to the correct internal orders and cost centres whilst order equipment/consumables.
8. Ensure full commitment and support to training and personal development to effectively discharge operational objectives.
9. Support the Maintenance manager to ensure maximum efficiency of the department & alignment to corporate policies.
What qualifications will make you successful?
1. Formal craft apprenticeship (or equivalent) with engineering qualification at ONC / HNC (or equivalent) and minimum of 5 years electrical/electronic/mechanical.
2. 17th edition wiring regulations (desirable).
3. 2391 Test and inspection certification.
4. Must be able to demonstrate a high level of computer / PLC literacy (desirable). SAP & CMMS (experience desired but not essential).
5. MEWP & Forklift licence (desired but training can be given).
6. Should be able to demonstrate a range of skills including team working, problem solving, good communication skills and enthusiasm (essential).
7. Previous experience working in a maintenance role demonstrating high level of ability & pro-activity in responding to complex maintenance issues/breakdowns (essential).
