Based in Bedfordshire, they are currently seeking to recruit a Head of Certification / Certification Manager to join their in - house Certification Department. Applications are invited from lead airworthiness or certification engineers / managers who have many years of aerospace industry experience, both technical and operational, ideally including New Product Introduction.The purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of certification activities of the Certification Department. This role covers a range of responsibilities including:Efficiently organise, plan, prioritise and co - ordinate work tasks Strategic and resource planning and supportResponsible for technical quality and timely delivery of outputs from Certification DepartmentEnsure that certification work scope is in line with program contract and certification data supports the business through the product life cycleFunction as Head of Certification Governance, managing delegation of certification preparation and checking through capability and competence processes, and ensuring all the necessary skills are developed to support the strategy of the businessCertification document approval in areas of key competenciesSupport development of certification toolset to facilitate certification progress within scope and budgetManage certification support for business needs in Sales, Customer, Spares and OperationsResponsibility for team member appraisals, mentoring, general training and development of the Team. Support the Certification Director in the maintenance and control of the DOA Office of Airworthiness, acting as an authorised on - site certification representativeAttain/Develop Airworthiness CVE status with the business EASA DOAEnsures the technical competency, training and availability of key certification staff to ensure that all project requirements are met.Escalation of any certification issues to the Certification Director and Engineering DirectorThis is a challenging role the successful applicant will be flexible, determined and self - motivated. Regular liaison with Supply Chain, Operations, Maintenance, Program Management, Engineering, Finance, and Sales Marketing means that good communication and people skills are essential. A Team Leading or Management Qualification would be an advantage, as would Airworthiness Signatory Status.
