Job Description:
To lead the Group Sales Team in providing a highly professional, efficient, and friendly luxury sales experience for group and event business. This includes handling all group, event and off-site function reactive enquiries for the Resort, such as corporate conferences, weddings, corporate golf days, incentives, and social events. Drive the team to maximise department and resort revenues by ensuring creative, personalised, and effective sales supported by accurate booking, contracting, forecasting and billing. Build and manage client, supplier, and partner relationships while continually seeking more business opportunities.
In partnership with the HR Department, manage the training and development processes within the team. Be responsible for the quality assurance systems, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are in place and kept up to date for all practices. Oversee the ongoing development of the department's Resort and role-specific information database.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Lead the Group Sales team, and oversee their timely responses to event business enquiries. Ensure they embrace all opportunities and react to sales leads via telephone, e-mail, face-to-face, online engines, and internal communication systems.
2. Drive the team to achieve goals through managing and converting business to maximise revenues, maintaining selling strategy and utilising upselling techniques. Achieve optimum levels of group occupancy, average room rate, banqueting revenue, wedding sales, and leisure revenue to ensure budgeted targets are met.
3. Take responsibility for the selling, converting, contracting and securing of business, obtaining first payment, and ensuring accurate handover to an Event Planner. Ensure all sales proposals and contracts are detailed and accurate, with proper signatories obtained and all processes concluded within appropriate timelines.
4. Build strong professional business relationships with customers, clients, vendors, and Resort associates, ensuring 5-star service is delivered at all times. Maintain an approachable, friendly, flexible, and supportive demeanor.
5. Maintain relationships with customers, seek future opportunities, and lead regular business development projects for the team.
6. Establish strong relationships and encourage open communication with the proactive sales department, offering technical advice, sales & product knowledge, and overall support. Ensure full administrative support for all sales leads presented.
7. Encourage, prepare for, and confidently carry out detailed site inspections of the Resort and off-site facilities. Seek opportunities, arrange, and host familiarisation trips and client entertainment, and attend trade shows to promote events and weddings. Ensure the team is trained to execute high standards.
8. Oversee the Group Sales team daily, addressing all business and people challenges as they arise.

3. Must be a creative thinker, passionate, enthusiastic, and goal-driven.
4. Must have excellent time management & organisational skills.
5. Extreme attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment are essential, along with a passion for sales and events.
6. Must have good interpersonal and sales-related skills.
7. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written, and sound mathematical skills.
8. Proven experience in a Sales function, preferably with supervisory experience within the Hospitality Industry.
