Salary: The salary for this position is competitive and dependent on experience, with an estimated annual compensation ranging from $80,000 to over $110,000.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of electrical design for Industrial Ground Support Equipment such as Ground Power Units that utilize battery power as an energy source. This includes system architecture, electrical control system, and harnesses design, development, and documentation. Some control software design may be required, but skills can be taught on the job.
Key Responsibilities:
* Layout of electrical system architecture for new product development and prototyping
* Definition of control system architecture for new product development using basic control system theories
* Selection and application of electromechanical control devices for product development such as contactors, relays, switches, circuit breakers, transformers, and power supplies
* Creation and maintenance of electrical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and electrical cabinet bills of materials
* Creation of test plan and first power up instructions for the new product developed
* CLOSE support of first product start-up with testing team at the factory and early production runs of equipment
* Interaction with product engineer and other disciplines to ensure clean integration of work into the machine
* Cost Control to Design to Cost (DTC) objectives through proper component selection and coordination with Product Manager
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* BSC Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Experience with industrial-type equipment and their control systems, power supply and conversion, or with battery management systems
* Capable of schematic layout, wiring sizing, and control cabinet layouts
* ELECTRICAL SCHEMATICS using preferably SEE, E-Plan, or AutoCad
* Harnesses drawing ideally with vehicle harnesses experience
* Previous PLC programming experience preferred but not mandatory
* Ability to utilize Microsoft Office to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations as needed to fulfill the role
* Familiarity of working within UL, NEC, and CE compliance design rules preferred
