We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Practice Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Leicester, a category B Remand Prison located in Leicestershire.
HMP Leicester is a male prison with the capacity of 356; 80% of the prisoners are on remand.
Hours:
Monday - Sunday, 37.5 hours per week with shift patterns of either 7.30am - 6pm or 8.30pm - 7.30am.
Salary:
This position is full time, and you'll receive an annual salary of up to £47,466 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Senior Practice Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Provide clinical leadership for the Primary Care team and be a critical leader within the scheduled care team. This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including nurses, doctors, and mental health/substance misuse practitioners.
* Act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times.
* Deliver face-to-face care and provide safe and effective health assessments and treatment of patients within the establishment.
* Be accountable for your own practice, including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge or referral of patients, independent of medical intervention.
* Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team in providing quality, evidence-based health care to meet the immediate needs of the patient.
* Clinical duties also to include senior leadership in complex wounds, long-term conditions, and QoF management.

Qualifications required:
* NMC registration
* Working autonomously as a clinical practitioner following best practice guidance and identifying risk to patients through sound use of clinical expertise
* Knowledge of the safeguarding of adults and children
