Job Overview
To crew vehicles based at any of the Patient Transport sites and convey patients between hospital treatment and their home, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times during transit. Provide a high-quality client-sensitive service at all times. Passing a driver assessment will be required, which will be arranged with those successful at interview.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Carry up to a maximum capacity of patients on the PTS vehicles, whilst maintaining strict appointment times.
2. Maintain communication with PTS Control, enabling the addition or cancellation of patients as necessary.
3. Participate in a rota system covering any shift required for the Service.
4. Maintain dignity and individuality of patients at all times, and ensure their needs are met, including toileting and feeding as necessary.
5. Provide support including the lifting, pulling, carrying, and pushing of patients weighing up to and over 150kgs between home, treatment centres, and vehicle using the appropriate equipment/techniques.
6. Ensure that a correct patient handover is carried out.
7. Exhibit good driving skills with the ability to provide a safe and comfortable journey for patients of different mobilities and dependencies.

Person Specification
Experience
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Ability to cover any shift required by the service, occasionally and in escalation at short notice.
* C1 category driving licence
Qualifications and Training
* NVQ 3 or equivalent level of experience such as HCA
* Good numeracy and literacy skills
* Willingness to undertake training relevant to the post
* COSHH, Health & Safety
* Customer Care Training
* Patient Care Training
