Job Title Analyst (Voting) Department ESG-BG-UK Overview of Department Purpose of Role To provide voting analysis and recommendations to investment teams, undertaking company engagement on voting matters, and assist with reporting to clients and other relevant stakeholders on voting matters as required. The role is within ESG function. Responsibilities This role is accountable for a range of key deliverables: Supporting all investment teams by providing analysis and voting recommendations for shareholder meetings, including company engagement. Submitting votes accurately and timeously, and contributing to client and other reporting on voting matters. Undertaking a range of additional responsibilities as required, such as involvement in strategic projects. Analyst responsibilities include the following areas of focus: Voting research, analysis and engagement. Analysing shareholder meetings and liaising with ESG analysts and investment teams on voting recommendations and decisions. Inputting voting decisions timeously and accurately with suitable vote rationales, including actioning bespoke client requirements. Engaging with investee companies about voting related matters, leading engagements as required, and writing internal and external engagement notes. Supporting the Investment Department with broader ESG research and stewardship activities as required. Teamwork and communicating Leading team projects and participating in wider projects as required, under supervision of team lead. Contributing to client and other reporting as required under supervision of team lead. Supporting external communications (such as public firmwide reporting) and client interactions as required, presenting internally and possibly externally on voting topics. Contributes to continuous improvement of the team. Learning Keeping up to date with relevant industry and ESG developments through ongoing professional development. Working to acquire or has relevant qualifications and basic investment literacy. Proactive in driving own personal development. This position has been deemed a Certified role within the FCA’s Senior Manager and Certification Regime. As a result occupants details will be displayed on the FCA register and both initial and annual fitness and propriety assessments must be completed. Your Knowledge and Experience: A proven interest in ESG and Stewardship. An understanding of proxy voting and corporate governance. Experience in analysing company annual general meeting materials (preferred). Experience in engaging with companies (preferred.) Qualifications: Degree educated or significant relevant experience in the absence of a degree. CFA Certificate in ESG Investing or equivalent (desirable, required within two years). Investment Management Certificate (desirable).
