We are currently recruiting a Transport Supervisor for our site in Perth, to effectively Manage the staff and functions of the Transport Department in a way that satisfies both Customer and Company, fulfils the Customer Commitment and achieves targets.
Key Tasks
1. To ensure each day’s items are loaded/unloaded from the vehicles and delivered and returned to Customers according to the Agreement
2. To ensure all vehicles and equipment are checked, repaired and maintained in line with manufacturers recommendations and current legislation
3. To ensure that the requirements of the Operator’s License are adhered to at all times
4. To plan routes cost effectively
5. To establish & maintain good Customer relations and act as liaison between Customer and Company
6. To fully utilise the AS400 computer system, as appropriate
7. To carry out duties as laid down in BS EN ISO 9001: 2008 / 14001 Local Working Instructions and Company Operations Manual which may be updated from time to time
8. To recruit staff in consultation with the Transport Manager and General Manager
9. To provide ongoing training for all staff from start of service and throughout their employment and regularly review their training and development
10. To ensure the welfare of all staff in the department
11. To forward queries and keep managers, supervisors, colleagues informed as necessary
12. To keep all costs to or below budget
13. To keep accurate records where required
14. To wear and enforce the wearing and use of Personal Protective Equipment and handling aids, where supplied, at all times for all relevant tasks
15. To enforce and carry out all tasks to comply with Company Policy on Health & Safety & COSHH requirements
16. To enforce and comply with Company Policies and the Terms and Conditions of Employment and follow Company Procedures
17. To keep work area clean, tidy, safe and secure at all times
18. To attend training courses as required
19. To foster and maintain good working relations throughout the Company
20. To maintain confidentiality of Company and Customer business
21. Other Ad hoc duties as required
