Job Title: Production Manager
Salary: £40,000- £50,000 per annum dependent upon experience
Location: Saffron Walden, Essex
An opportunity has become available to join an approved Part 145 MRO as a Production Manager at their site just outside of Saffron Walden, Essex. The company specializes in developing new repairs for aircraft components via Part 21J design and has a full range of C- ratings as well as a CAA BCAR approved aerospace welding workshop. They provide component repairs to a wide range of aircraft operators including Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, ATR and Bombardier.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the role of the Production Manager is to coordinate production of the company’s workshops in order to achieve agreed Safety, Quality and production targets in line with the company’s global objectives. Plan and maintain systems and procedures for operating efficiency and communicate effectively with employees, team leaders, and managers for optimum performance and maximum productivity. To drive, implement, and show improvements using real-time data and to support employees' growth and training.
This is a permanent position working Monday- Friday, 8.00am- 4.30pm. The post holder would be expected on site full time; there is no hybrid working available with this role.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Communicate daily with team leaders, employees, and support functions to ensure all safety, quality, and production targets are met and meet our customer requirements.
2. Set objectives for the team in line with the company’s global objectives and manage performance in line with company policy.
3. Support the development of tiered meetings and visual management with the workshop manager.
4. Manage all AOG requirements with support functions.
5. Plan all production work and set controlled standards to meet Daily/Weekly and Monthly targets.
6. WIP review, look ahead for targets and deadlines, reallocate spares as necessary.
7. Meet with purchasing on a weekly basis and action points raised from the meeting.
8. Feedback system issues to the Process Improvement Coordinator.
9. Develop and drive projects to increase efficiency and maintain growth.
10. Formulate and drive department/unit policies and practices under your control.
11. Facilitate the preparation and analysis of reports for review with the workshop manager.
12. Support the development of a lean culture within the business.

About You:
1. A Level or equivalent.
2. Experience of leading and managing a team within an Aerospace engineering environment.
3. Knowledge of people management principles and procedures.
4. Knowledge of planning, monitoring, and managing workloads to achieve production targets.
5. Knowledge of office administrative procedures.
6. Proficient in relevant software applications.
