Electrical Engineer – Harness & Power Supply Validation Engineer (922)
Location: Cranfield
Hourly Rate: £27.00 p/h
We are recruiting for a Harness & Power Supply Validation Engineer for one of our globally recognised automotive clients based in Cranfield. This is a long-term contract role, with the potential to run for several years.
Key Responsibilities:
The role involves supporting the Electrical & Electronic (EE) Test team with tasks related to the validation of:
• Power supply architecture reliability.
• Circuit confirmation of electronic parts.
• Layout confirmation of the wiring loom and harness parts, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability meet client design/test standards and regulatory requirements.
Additional tasks include:
• Creation of test plans to align with project and design milestones.
• Development of testing procedures, confirmation of vehicle specifications, and arrangement of test parts and vehicle transportation.
• Coordination of vehicle tests, serving as the technical lead/project leader when necessary.
• Formal reporting of test results to design sections and senior management.
• Root cause investigation and recommendation of countermeasures.
• Providing technical support to the production plant when required.
• Occasional support for field investigations.
• Managing some supplier activities.
• Generating test/investigation reports and validating commodities within project milestones.
• Ensuring the quality of electrical systems meets client standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Understanding of electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices.
• Experience with Harness/EDS layout and application.
• Ability to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.
• Demonstrated practical experience with problem-solving tools and techniques.
• Experience with automotive CAD tools.
Hours & Pay:
• Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.
• Hourly rate: £27.00 p/h.
