Job description The role As our Pensions Team Leader, youll oversee our Pensions department, providing leadership that inspires your colleagues. As you look after this growing team, youll need to drive and embed change that improves our processes. And as you do so, youll motivate your team to provide a great service, growing their knowledge and expertise along the way. Your main area of focus will be on continuous improvement with an emphasis on future succession and planning. Since the team is expanding, youll need to bring your knowledge and experience of pensions to establish a foundation thatll allow the department to grow and ensure quality stays high. The work in your teams will be fast paced. So, maintaining team wellbeing will be really important. Youll establish a supportive team environment, where everyones input and ideas are welcomed. And where your team can come to you for advice about escalated or challenging cases. Along with your line management responsibilities, youll have a varied workload involving developing stakeholder relationships with internal teams and external organisations like HM Treasury and the Cabinet Office. Youll meet with senior leaders to keep them informed on your departments work. And youll design and deliver projects that improve our pension service. Person specification About you Youll have a minimum of 2 GCSEs at Grade 4 /C or above in mathematics and English language (or an equivalent Level 2 qualification). Youll have existing knowledge of pensions, project management, and operational planning and delivery. And youll be a proven leader, someone who can inspire a team and embed meaningful change, as well as nurture a supportive environment where everyone can thrive. Youll be confident in the technical side of things, used to working with numbers, and be comfortable training and advising your team on performing calculations. Finally, youll be passionate about continuous improvement; someone who values quality and knows how to drive it within a team. Youll have the option to complete internal and external training courses, including CIPD (subject to places), and well support you with funding and time away from work to study if needed. As a line manager, youll be offered a Management Training Pathway. Things you need to know Selection process details What to Expect Our recruitment process is fair, transparent, and based on merit.
