Lady Margaret Hall is a constituent College of the University of Oxford and is located in twelve acres of gardens and grounds next to the University Parks.
LMH was founded in 1878 with a dual passion for learning and for equality, making it possible, for the first time, for women to study at Oxford. Today, the College is a coeducational academic community of about 475 undergraduate and 340 postgraduate students, committed to research and scholarship and to effective, highly personalised teaching and learning for students from all backgrounds.

Main Tasks
The management and co-ordination of front of house reception services and site security, and the supervision of the Porters Lodge within budget. The Porters Lodge is open 24 hours per day, 365 days of the year.
Running the Porters Lodge
* Management and evolution of the College's front of house reception and security services to a high standard
* Management, recruitment, training and development of Lodge staff in line with College Values and the Investors in People framework including PDRs, individual and team meetings, personal and team development plans.
* Management of the Porters Lodge team to deliver:
* The control, security and issue of keys, fobs and associated tasks.
* Management of mail, parcels and other documents and deliveries, sorting and distributing for the college community
* General site security and incident response including CCTV management
* Welcoming face of the college to students, staff, visitors, guests and customers
* Fire alarm activation responses and fire drills
* Management of car parking activity and control of cycle permits
* Record keeping
* Routine inspection of fire doors (night team)
* Maintenance of site gates
* Ability to complete Porters Lodge duties hands on if required
* Agreeing the teams annual objectives
Personal Responsibilities
* Key member of the colleges response team to deal with disaster or emergency situations, and responsible for the first line of response within the Lodge itself.
* Managing and improving security of the site and its occupants using CCTV and other means; development of security procedures.
* Liaison with external agencies for example police and fire service
* Liaison with the Colleges Wellbeing team on potentially sensitive and personal matters as they arise.
* Lead the colleges salvage plans in the event of an emergency.
Ensuring Compliance
* Responsibility for health and safety issues related to the Lodge and Porters as well as Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans where required
* Oversight of departmental risk assessments
* Role within the colleges wider health and safety management structure
* Relevant responsibility for departmental compliance with data protection information security and GDPR requirements
* Lead relationships with departmental suppliers of goods and services ensuring value for money

* Be a highly experienced manager with proven success in managing service-delivery within similar roles.

* Have excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills

* Have proven success with budgeting and financial control.
There will be an initial probationary period of six months. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
