About the role
We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an Investor Relations Finance Manager on a 9 month fixed term contract. Working as part of a team, you will be involved in all aspects of the Investor Relations (IR) team activity and build a market understanding and appreciation of abrdn’s business, strategy, and performance. You will have unparalleled access to our Executive Leadership Team and obtain a deep understanding of the abrdn group whilst building relationships across the whole business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the IR team to deliver all aspects of the in-house IR function.
* Contribute to the production of financial results related materials including the results press release, full/half year results document, CEO and CFO scripts, Q&A, analyst and investor presentation, and data pack.
* Maintain up-to-date analyst consensus, target prices, and recommendations.
* Responsible for ensuring financial and operational performance information is obtained, analysed, and interpreted to allow the development of appropriate external messages and responses to questions/issues, always ensuring these are consistent with the corporate and IR strategy.
* Produce summaries of equity analyst research, summarising key points and distributing to senior management and other stakeholders.
* Support with quarterly results event management/logistics and delivery of any in-person and online presentations.
* Support with the preparation of briefing documents to support senior management ahead of investor meetings/conferences including maintaining and managing CRM system and share register analysis to ensure fit for purpose.
* Where required, participate in investor activity to develop and maintain relationships with investors and analysts.
* Assist in organising ad hoc analyst/investor events.
* Work with the IR team members to produce weekly IR report.
* Support with competitor/peer analysis and desk research e.g. analysing peer results, product offerings, share price performance, and comparing disclosures to influence a ‘best in class’ approach within abrdn.
About the candidate
* Accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, ICAS etc.) or other relevant business qualification.
* Ability to produce high quality external reporting documents including results press release and presentation.
* Ability to build and maintain detailed financial models (e.g. consensus).
* Adept at using and developing innovative ways to analyse, interpret, and communicate data and information accurately, speedily, and in a commercially focused manner.
* Able to communicate industry and competitor knowledge to enable greater understanding of the markets in which abrdn operates.
* Appetite to continually improve processes and increase the efficiency within IR – leveraging technology and automation to increase the bandwidth within the team to focus on adding greater value.
* High degree of financial literacy / attention to detail.
* Well-organised and display the ability to structure and prioritise their work.
* Expert in MS Office packages – PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
* Knowledge of UK and other financial services industries, products, and competitors.
