About the role:
Horsham District Council is looking for a Project Accountant (Technical) to join our Finance and Performance team. You will lead on project work regarding financial processes and provide financial accounts and management accounting service for the Capital programme.
As a Project Accountant (Technical), you will work as part of the Finance and Performance team who aim to meet corporate financial objectives, drive change and implement best practice in financial systems. You will be responsible for projects in the key financial administration systems and provide finance support to business transformation projects. You will also be required to cover other officers in some areas of finance work such as treasury management.
About you:
To succeed as Project Accountant (Technical) you will have experience working in a financial environment, with strong finance skills and the ability to guide project work. You will be a CCAB full or part qualified accountant, you will have extensive experience of financial management and the skills to support the financial and management accounting service for the Council’s Capital programme. As a Project Accountant (Technical), you will be able to work independently to deadlines with minimal supervision and manage priorities and a demanding workload, therefore, good organisational and time management skills are essential. You will also have sound analytical and attention to detail skills as well as a flexible and creative approach to work and problem solving. The ability to communicate with a range of people from different backgrounds, including ethnic, social and professional, both verbally and in writing is essential.
