Firmin Recruit are delighted to be working with our established engineering client who have offices throughout Kent. Our client, the UK’s leading designer, manufacturer, and installer of bespoke physical security products, is looking for a motivated and experienced Field Service Technician (1 year of mechanical/engineering experience) to join their dynamic team.
Hours: 8 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday
The Role:
* As a Field Service Engineer, you will be the primary point of contact for all service-related tasks, including maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting.
* To be successful in this role, you must be a self-starter with a passion for problem-solving.
* You must have excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to maintain and update your own van stock.
* You should be comfortable working with a laptop for job reporting.
* The role also requires someone who has experience using power tools and drills.
* As part of your training, you will be required to attend college one day per week, which is covered by your employer.
* You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment, adhering to company policies and procedures, and driving service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention, and increases profitability.
Suitable Candidate:
* Field service experience within a mechanical electrical environment is preferable (1 - 2 years mechanical experience preferred).
* IT skills (Proficient in mobile device/tablet use).
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
* Positive can-do self-motivated attitude towards work and fellow team members, with a willingness to support other technicians in the field.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers.
* Full UK Driving License.
* This role is to support clients in the Essex area; therefore, suitable candidates will need to live in this area.
* The role is field-based and requires someone who is happy to cover a large part of the Essex area.
* As part of your training, you will be required to attend college one day per week.
