Abbey House Veterinary Hospital are looking for an enthusiastic Lead Veterinary Nurse to run the dynamic surgical team on a day to day basis. This is a brilliant opportunity for a passionate RVN to take the next step in their leadership journey or an established leader. Abbey House is a 24 hour middle tier referral hospital supporting local practices with their out of hours care. We have a huge variety of cases allowing ample of opportunity to develop clinical, leadership and management skills. Roles and responsibilities of the lead surgical nurse involve: Conducting monthly 121 with your line reports Conducting annual PDRs Contributing to the nurse leadership team at Abbey House Working collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Manager Controlling Surgical stock levels Supporting and training with the surgical team Oversee equipment maintenance from a surgical aspect Liaise with owners in regards to any surgical queries. The role a full time permanent position including 1:8 full weekends, 2 bank holidays a year and a 4 day week (4x10 hours days). We are proud to be Linnaeus, part of Mars.
