An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Charity Retail Manager.
The post holder will be required to manage a wide range of activities connected with the retail operations of Newcastle Hospitals Charity.
* 30 hours/week
Main duties of the job
* Responsible for all aspects of the retail outlets including identifying product lines, buying & displaying product & monitoring stock and range performance regularly.
* Responsible for pricing within agreed guidelines, monitoring sales and ensuring self and volunteers provide an excellent standard of service and customer care.
* Responsible for health and safety, supervision, support and welfare of volunteers within this area.
* Managing volunteer rota to ensure the agreed opening hours are achieved, participate in the recruitment and training of volunteers.
* Deal with queries, concerns and complaints in line with Trust policies.
* Acting as an advocate for the charity and supporting its marketing and promotion.
Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first months pay.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Education
* Good standard of education at undergraduate Diploma level or equivalent
Knowledge & Experience
* Significant experience in the retail industry including buying, marketing, sales and accounting
* Significant previous experience in the retail industry in a senior sales or middle management position.
* Previous experience in managing cash and accounts
* Previous experience in a health care or charity environment.
Skills & Abilities
* Mature, friendly personality
* Able to lead and train, motivate and support staff and volunteers
* IT literate
* Ability to project sales, profit and income figures
