Our client is a reputable and established Consultancy firm, offering Cost Management, Planning and Programming, Contract Administration, Health and Safety, and CDM services. Their Safety division offers a range of health and safety services which help meet the needs of their ever-increasing client base, from principal designer services and CDM support services through to a comprehensive health and safety consultancy, and training services tailored to each client’s particular needs.
They are looking for a NEBOSH Construction qualified H&S advisor, with some knowledge working with Tier 1 clients. This role would suit someone wanting to develop their career, with a keen interest in learning Principal Designer responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
1. Carrying out site inspections during the construction phase to monitor compliance.
2. Conduct site H&S audits and inspections.
3. Undertake accident or other special investigations to assist the client as required.
4. Provide health and safety advice, guidance, training, and support.
5. Collating and delivering the Health and Safety File at completion of the project.
6. Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships.
7. Undertaking site H&S inspections and report writing.
8. Discussing issues raised and proactively seeking solutions and advice to help clients with compliance.
9. Assist with the writing of risk assessments and safe systems of work for clients.
10. Assist with client annual memberships to recognized SSIP schemes.
11. Help maintain internal compliance to health and safety requirements and embed a culture of 'safety first.'
12. Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build excellent working relationships.
Qualifications/Experience:
1. Minimum 2 - 3 years’ post-qualification experience in the construction industry.
2. Hold the NEBOSH General & Construction Certificate and be working towards the NCRQ / NEBOSH Diploma Level 6 (if preferable).
3. Be a Technical Member of IOSH with a proven CPD record.
4. A good understanding of Health and Safety Legislation and CDM 2015.
5. On-site H&S inspection experience advantageous.
6. Proficient in the use of IT including Microsoft software, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
7. Hold a valid, clean driver’s license.
