Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to become a Deputy Team Manager? Join our social work team that collaborates with a wide range of health and social care professionals.
We're seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual with experience managing qualified social workers and social work assistants.
The Reablement and Hospital Discharge Team is committed to supporting individuals to recover and maintain their independence following a period of illness or injury. As a Deputy Team Manager, you'll be integral to the team's development, meeting service demands, and implementing changes to support workers in maximising individuals' independence.
You'll support the team manager in overseeing a busy, fast-paced team where every day is different and implement creative solutions to help individuals maintain their independence. You'll also collaborate with health professionals and continuing health care services as well as lead the development of a supportive team environment.
The successful applicant will be required to have a social work degree qualification or equivalent. You'll need to be able to drive (or have a driver) and have access to a motor vehicle. Main Responsibility
* Provide reflective supervision and support to social workers and social work assistants.
* Manage and prioritise allocations based on risk, need, and urgency.
* Support workers in producing strengths-based assessments that accurately reflect the individual and their situation.
* Collaborate with health colleagues and other professionals to ensure timely discharge of individuals.
* Oversee the flow through all discharge services.
* Manage and support a team, addressing HR issues as necessary.
* Support colleagues within a multidisciplinary service.
* Solve problems and manage complex cases and risk.
The Ideal Candidate
* Possess a Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, Degree in Social Work, or equivalent).
* Registered with Social Work England.
* Demonstrated evidence of continued professional development, such as AMHP, BIA, or Practice Educator, and experience in supervising staff.
* Proven experience and understanding of working with hospital discharges and Continuing Health Care.
* Experience in leading safeguarding enquiries and attending strategy meetings.
* Ability to travel to meet service delivery requirements.
* Understanding of budgetary requirements.
* Knowledge of key legislation applicable to adult social care.
* Experience working with reablement, recuperation models, and continuing health care.
* Effective communication skills across a wide range of professions.
* Ability to work autonomously in a pressurised environment.
* Experience in supporting a team through change.
For this role, the candidate is required to have a full UK driving licence, along with access to a vehicle. Evidence of the driving licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position. Without this documentation the candidate will not be appointable.
