We are recruiting for an underwriting assistant to join our team.There will be occasional travel to our London business centre so the individual within this role will need to be career driven, flexible and keen to excel their career working for one of the UK’s leading Insurance, Wealth and Retirement businesses.
A bit about the job:
Together, we'll be working towards providing a comprehensive service which aids our team of underwriters. This will include building a successful network of internal and external relationships; responding to a variety of enquiries and meeting high standards to ensure customer satisfaction. And you will:
1. Collaborate with our Trading Underwriter team in London to deliver end-to-end policy management for large, complex corporate risks
2. Spot and drive opportunities for operational improvements
3. Deliver business-important metrics alongside our management team
4. Take personal responsibility for development in line with business strategy
5. Act on feedback from customers and share ideas with managers and peers
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
1. Proven record of delivering excellent customer outcomes
2. Good knowledge of IT including spreadsheets, databases and word processing
3. Previous underwriting experience is not essential as full training will be provided
4. Experience in building and encouraging positive internal and external relationships
5. Previous experience in the insurance or financial industry is preferable but, again, not essential

Starting salary £26,800 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
