Supply Desk are a nationwide education recruitment company specialising in Primary, SEND, and Secondary education. We place our teaching staff in day-to-day and long-term placements in an extensive number of Primary and Secondary schools across Brighton & Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Supply Teacher for children with a range of SEN across Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Key Stage 2 (KS2).
Key Responsibilities:
Individualised Teaching: Provide tailored, effective 1:1 or small group teaching for students with SEN, ensuring their specific learning needs are met.
Social & Emotional Development: Support the development of students' social, emotional, and communication skills, promoting their overall well-being.
Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals to design and implement personalised learning strategies and educational plans.
Adaptation of Resources: Modify and create learning activities, resources, and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
Inclusive Learning Environment: Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, builds confidence, and promotes independence among students with SEN
Skills and Qualities Required:
Experience with SEN: Previous experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of different types of SEN.
Patience & Adaptability: A flexible, patient, and creative approach to teaching, with a focus on supporting each student’s individual development.
Building Relationships: Strong interpersonal skills to develop trusting and supportive relationships with students, enabling them to gain confidence and independence.
Effective Communication: Excellent communication skills, both in terms of working with students and collaborating with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
DBS Check: Current DBS registration or a willingness to undergo a DBS check if required.
Eligibility to Work: The legal right to work in the UK.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): A recognised teaching qualification (QTS) or equivalent, with experience in working with SEN students in a school setting
