Reporting to the Head Groundsman, you will provide a full gardens and grounds maintenance support service to Longleat which includes, undertaking groundwork and supporting the upkeep of Longleat grounds, including Longleat Park trees, grasslands and lawns as well as formal gardens and Longleat Park attractions. Key duties will include: You will carry out general maintenance of guest-facing open spaces, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, clearing leaves, litter collection, planting, road sweeping, pruning and seeding. Operate assigned mowers and other motorized equipment in the maintenance of landscaped areas; operate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment; operate trucks, trailers, tractors and other equipment to load, unload and transport materials and equipment; Rake leaves and lawns; hoe weeds; spray herbicides and pesticides and remove rodents according to established methods and procedures. To be responsible for the cleanliness and neatness of your work area inclusive of vehicles and equipment Carry out gritting, salt spreading, snow clearing as necessary Undertake minor construction and landscaping work. What will I need to be considered for this vacancy? Full UK Driving Licence Experience in general Landscape and Grounds Maintenance Good experience in using petrol two-stroke grass cutting equipment Familiar with ride on grass cutting equipment and tractor driving Including the use and set up of a cylinder sit-on mower Ability to work well within a team but also as a lone worker at times Self-motivated and a proactive approach to work What will I receive in return?
