If so, this role may be just for you The Opportunity Due to increased expansion, our client, a leader in the nuclear industry, is looking for a project engineer to join the team and help deliver some of their projects in Bridgwater on a permanent basis. Your duties and responsibilities will be Support the Project Manager with day-to-day activities required to deliver work in line with the project plan including safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives. Work with Pre-Operations and Commissioning teams to develop clear requirements specifications to be delivered within the contract or package of work. Lead multi-disciplinary teams, consisting of commercial, quality, equipment suppliers, installation contractors etc to deliver projects on site. Delivery of assigned projects, jobs and tasks ensuring that the work is conducted in a safe, timely and effective manner in line with the relevant procedures. Prepare and maintain project documentation including Project Definition Document, Project Brief, Quality Plans, and other documents as required. Developing and executing effective execution strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be manages, organised, and executed. The PEP sets out the ‘why’, ‘what’, ‘how’, ‘when’ and ‘who’ for the delivery of the programme. Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders and executing the project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work Drive the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements. Monitor and manage the progress of the programme – track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters.You will have the following qualifications & experience Experienced in project delivery and knowledge of Project Management principles (APM). Able to demonstrate previous experience leading a project team and delivering a project from concept to operation. Previous experience working in a construction environment would be advantageous. Familiar with a strong health and safety culture and ability to set and uphold high standards of safety. Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including Construction Design Management and Health and Safety at Work Act. Experience in the nuclear industry or highly regulated industry would be advantageous but not essential. Ability to prioritise and organise works to ensure adherence to the project schedule. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team, bringing together multiple divisions to deliver projects on site. Presenting progress to senior leaders.It’s great if you also have the following Previous nuclear experience would be beneficialThe setting for the role Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
