Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Key Stage 1)Location: Warrington - WA4Contract: Full-time, Term-time OnlySalary: £13.69 - £15.83 We are currently recruiting on behalf of a wonderful primary school in Warrington for a Teaching Assistant to support their Key Stage 1 (KS1) children. As a Teaching Assistant in KS1, you will work closely with the class teacher to support children aged 5-7 in developing key skills in subjects such as English, Maths, Science, and more. Your role will involve providing both academic support and nurturing guidance to help children succeed in their early years of primary education. Key Responsibilities: Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons across the KS1 curriculum as a Teaching Assistant. Work one-on-one with students or in small groups to provide targeted support in areas like literacy, numeracy, and phonics. Assist in the preparation and organisation of classroom resources, activities, and displays, ensuring an engaging and stimulating learning environment. Offer emotional and behavioural support to children, promoting positive behaviour and social skills development in line with school policies. Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment where KS1 pupils feel safe, confident, and encouraged to achieve their best. Essential Criteria: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school, ideally within KS1. A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent). Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and the ability to support pupils in subjects like English, Maths, and Science. A warm and caring approach to working with young children, with a passion for supporting their academic and personal development as a Teaching Assistant. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, staff, and parents. Desirable: Experience supporting pupils with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) in a KS1 setting. Familiarity with phonics programs and other early literacy interventions. Experience in supporting children to prepare for assessments and SATs as a Teaching Assistant.
