Registered Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal
We’re looking for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our experienced and passionate nursing team at Clare Vet Group. If you’re an SVN in your 2nd year or beyond, we would love to hear from you as well!
At Clare Vet Group, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality care to our local community and patients. You’ll be part of a supportive team that is committed to helping you reach your full potential and progress in your veterinary career.
Develop Your Skills
As an RVN, you will be responsible for a range of nursing duties, including surgical and medical nursing, anaesthesia, radiography, animal husbandry, inpatient care, laboratory work, and running nurse clinics. Our nurse consultations include dental clinics, post-operative checks, weight management, blood pressure monitoring, suture removal, and more. You will also have the opportunity to mentor and supervise Student Nurses, with Clinical Coach training available if you’re not already qualified.
Work With Modern Facilities
At Clare Vet Group, we are a dedicated and compassionate team committed to providing exceptional veterinary care to the local community. Our RCVS Accredited Nurse Training Practice and RCVS Practice Standard Accredited Practice are designed to provide high-quality services, treating each patient with the utmost care and respect. We believe in nurturing our staff and providing a supportive, dynamic work environment, where both personal and professional growth is encouraged. With state-of-the-art facilities, modern equipment, and a strong focus on continuous development, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent veterinary care to our clients and their beloved pets.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking an enthusiastic RVN or experienced SVN (2nd year and beyond) with a passion for nursing and a strong desire to develop your skills further. You will be keen to expand your knowledge and contribute to a supportive and dynamic team. Previous experience in mentoring Student Nurses is a plus, but we can offer training for the right candidate.
Working Hours That Provide a Real Balance
This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week based at Ballyclare Hospital. However, we are open to job sharing if two suitable candidates apply. You will be part of the nursing rota, which includes out-of-hours and night shifts on call. Our rota follows an 8-week shared pattern, offering days off in lieu for weekend work, half-days, rest periods during working weekends, and plenty of full weekends off, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.
