Papanui High School is seeking an inspiring and dedicated head of Māori to lead and develop our Māori education programme. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher to make a meaningful impact on our students and school community.
Role overview
As head of Māori, you will guide the teaching of te reo Māori, Te Ao Haka, and Māori performing arts, fostering a strong sense of identity and cultural pride in our students. You will work collaboratively with staff, students, and whānau to support the integration of Māori perspectives and knowledge across our curriculum and school culture.
The ideal candidate
1. Holds teaching qualifications and experience in te reo Māori and Māori performing arts
2. Has demonstrated leadership in Māori education and a passion for empowering young people
3. Brings excellent communication skills and the ability to foster strong relationships with students, staff, and the community.
