The Role: The role involves carrying out the administrative duties of the Yard function with efficiency and effectiveness. Working within the Yard office, the Administrator will liaise with drivers and Yard Operatives to ensure that all inbound and outbound vehicles are processed correctly. Main Responsibilities: Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s health and safety requirements and in compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation. Issue the relevant paperwork to inbound and outbound customer delivery drivers, ensuring that the traffic flow does not become disrupted. Maintain a liaison with the production team and yard management, to ensure that there is effective coordination of al operations and that customer requirements are met. Manage stock movement to and from external companies to ensure accuracy. Run reports and track and issue relevant KPI’s, as and when required. Maintain ancillary stock including pallets. Monitor and arrange waste disposal collections. Ensure that all 3rd party drivers comply with the site rules through induction training. Support the Yard team with regular inventory counts on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis as instructed. Maintain housekeeping to the highest possible industry standards. Immediately report any shortcomings in methods, procedures, quality, safety or efficiency to the Line Manager. To perform Risk Assessments before commencing any non-routine tasks that have not been previously evaluated. To ensure that all yard plant equipment (Forklifts / Trucks) have their daily checks performed and all failures are reported and actioned in accordance with HH procedures. Knowledge, skills and experience required: Possess a solid secondary education as well as time served or apprenticeship in an administrative role, preferably in warehousing and storage, distribution and logistics, or trade supplies environment. Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Yard logistics experience Proficient knowledge of health and safety regulations A B1 or B2 license would be beneficial, but is not required
