My client is looking for a Planning Director to lead their planning department in Sheffield. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong leader, and a passionate advocate for urban planning excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the planning department, overseeing a team of planners and support staff.
2. Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve departmental goals.
3. Establish and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.
4. Provide expert advice on planning policies, regulations, and best practices.
5. Lead major planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality and compliance.
6. Mentor and coach staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
7. Collaborate with senior management to shape company strategy and direction.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Geography, or related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in planning, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
3. Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent professional accreditation.
4. Strong knowledge of UK planning policies, regulations, and procedures.
5. Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
6. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
7. Strategic thinker with a track record of driving business growth and achieving results.
