We are looking for a COMMERCIAL LEGAL COUNSEL, DISCOVERY & MEDICAL/GENOMIC MEDICINE -EMEA to work in our global LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE team. The Commercial Legal Counsel will report directly to the Senior Counsel, Discovery & Medical and Genomic Medicine - EMEA. What you'll do - Partner with Discovery & Medical and Genomic Medicine business leaders and their teams in EMEA to help identify opportunities to drive the business forward, e.g. negotiating and closing important commercial, sourcing and R&D agreements whilst applying legal and commercial judgement. - Provide Legal & Compliance training to Discovery & Medical and Genomic Medicine teams in EMEA to help them identify and navigate risks that may arise during the course of doing business. - Work in diverse, cross-functional teams to address issues, problem solve, design and implement new and more efficient processes/ways of working to maximise impact on priority matters. - Advise the business on compliance, privacy, antitrust, and advertising / promotional matters, flag IPR issues, work with internal IP lawyers and manage outside counsel as required to ensure Cytiva is appropriately protected. - Support adherence to internal controls in contract related processes and support the management of disputes and litigation. Who you are - A lawyer qualified to practice in England & Wales, holding a current practicing certificate, with excellent academic credentials and a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience. - Significant commercial legal experience at a large law firm and/or in-house legal department, including but not limited to drafting, negotiating and closing commercial and supplier agreements (ideally including in a regulated environment) e.g. sale and distribution agreements, supply and professional services agreements etc., preferably with experience gained in the life sciences or healthcare industry. - A proven team player with strong project prioritization skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills with demonstrated experience identifying and resolving legal issues quickly and effectively and ability to make well-grounded risk calls. - Experience engaging and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to influence adoption of business-oriented solutions and proven ability to contribute to driving change across cross-functional teams with a focus on operational excellence.
