The purpose of this post is to provide specialised nursing care within the Dermatology Outpatient setting. To provide information, advice, support, assessment, interventions and follow up for dermatology patients, including those who have extra needs including cognitive and behavioural difficulties. To communicate effectively and liaise across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless and effective care for dermatology patients. To assist and support senior nursing staff and participate in continually monitoring and improving the effectiveness of the dermatology services provided by the Trust. To undertake independent clinics as part of the nurse led service, including phototherapy UVA/UVB treatments, patch testing, photodynamic therapy (PDT), treatment counselling and eczema/psoriasis education. To provide support within the team and act as a role model and resource, encouraging and developing a high standard of clinical skill and improving patient outcome.
