Job summary The Theatre Support Worker plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures by being a member of a theatre team, providing support and assistance to professionally qualified staff and other team members. Responsibilities will include participating in patient care, equipment care, infection control, ancillary and clerical duties. Main duties of the job Preparing the Theatre: Setting up surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring everything is ready for the surgery. Patient Care: Moving patients on trolleys and preparing patients for anaesthesia. Stock Management: Making sure the department has all the necessary supplies and managing stock levels. Support During Surgery: Assisting the surgical team during procedures by providing the necessary instruments and equipment. Post-Surgery Duties: Moving patients on trolleys to the ward, cleaning and tidying theatre areas after surgery, disposing of waste, and ensuring a sterile environment. Administrative Tasks: Checking patients into theatre reception, receiving handovers from ward staff, and preparing patient records.
